Lawrence Highbloom
Lawrence Highbloom, President and Chief Executive Officer and founder of VINtek, Inc.
In the late 1980's Larry envisioned developing processes to automate risk management activities of automotive financiers. His background as a CPA in public accounting, where he audited automobile dealerships, contributed to his understanding of the risks faced by automotive financiers in indirect lending relationships. He formed VINtek in 1990.
Larry conceived the vision of VINtek's products and services and identified the talent and resources to make these visions reality. Through his continued tenure at VINtek the company has grown to be national in scope with hundreds of clients, including the largest automotive financiers in the country. As a speaker at industry conferences, Larry has been at the forefront in employing technology to reduce the risk and cost associated with automotive finance.
Larry worked in public accounting and the automotive industry prior to founding VINtek. As corporate controller for Colonial Nissan in Feasterville, Pennsylvania, Larry developed his vision for the products which would become the basis for forming VINtek. He also managed a leasing portfolio in addition to his controller responsibilities.
Prior to Colonial Nissan, Larry worked in the tax department of Coopers & Lybrand where he developed forecasts for real estate syndication projects. While at Coopers & Lybrand, he developed a program in Lotus 1-2-3 to automate the preparation of tax returns for individuals involved in multiple oil & gas partnerships, greatly reducing the staff effort to calculate an investor's taxable basis.
Prior to joining Coopers & Lybrand, Larry developed programs for forecasting profit & loss and tax results for real estate syndications at Alexander Grant using VisiCalc® (a spreadsheet program which preceded Lotus 1-2-3).
Before Alexander Grant, Larry worked in the field audit department of Schwartz, Lasson, Harris & Company. He began his accounting career at Silver & Company where he performed general accounting and tax duties and obtained his CPA certification.
In addition to his CPA certification, Larry has a Bachelor of Business Administration in accounting from the George Washington University.
He has obtained two US patents on inventions he designed in the motor vehicle and automotive finance industry.
